Original and authentic post-war Marusan KOSUGE Cadillac Series 62 Sedan - Gray-Blue Tinplate Toy Car from the 1950s. This is the highly collectible heavy-gauge tin model featuring the stamped "Kosuge" baseplate and a friction drive mechanism.
Measures approx 12" in length, 5" in width, and 4 in height. Please review the details and photos carefully.
Condition Details: shows typical play/age wear - surface scratches and some surface rust, and minor scraping consistent with age. Interior shows what could be some light surface rust and is all intact. Zero attempt has been made to clean or restore this vintage toy which was discovered in an old house we acquired. The front left hubcap is missing its red paint, and the front right tire has a "dent" which is virtually unnoticeable on display (both highlighted in pictures). Missing Components: missing the plastic window pieces. There are no license plates, although there appears to never have been anything attached in those areas. All else appears to be present from what I can tell looking at other examples online. Original hubcaps, white-wall tires, front and rear bumpers, all 4 bumper guards (often missing), Cadillac trunk and hood crests, Cadillac script side pieces, headlights (also often missing) and tail lights are all intact. Mechanism: the friction motor is intact and rolls smoothly forward and backward. Front wheels turn/pivot, as designed. The body is structurally solid with great shelf appeal. Please see all photos for exact condition and feel free to contact me if you wish a specific angle pictured.
